Rusle

Privacy in Rusle

Updated 7 October 2026

Rusle has no account and no ads, and it sells nothing about you. Almost everything stays on your phone. This page explains the few exceptions.

Location

Rusle uses your location on the phone to plan loops and to tell you about turns at the right moment. To find a route, Rusle asks Apple Maps, which receives the start point. Rusle does not store your location anywhere else.

Apple Health

Rusle reads weight, walking distance, steps and workouts from Apple Health on the phone, only to show your progress. It writes nothing to Apple Health and sends none of it anywhere.

Your walks

Your walks are stored on the phone and in your own iCloud, so they move with you to a new phone. Rusle cannot see them.

Heart rate

Heart rate from a watch or a chest strap is used during the walk, on the phone only.

Crash reports

If Rusle crashes or hangs, the iPhone makes a technical report: where in the code it happened, the app version, the iOS version and the phone model. Rusle sends it to the developer's own server so the fault can be fixed. The report has no name, location, health data or anything that links it to you. It is deleted after 90 days, and database backups are gone 7 days after that.

Garmin

Rusle for Garmin talks only to Rusle on your own phone, through Garmin Connect. Walks saved on the watch follow your Garmin settings.

When you contact us

Messages from the contact form are sent by e-mail to the developer and are not stored on the website. Your IP address is used for a moment to stop spam, and is not stored. Your e-mail address is only used to answer you.

Who is responsible

Rusle is made by Peter Rekdal Khan-Sunde in Norway. Ask about your data or this policy through the contact form on the help page.
