Rusle for Garmin
Rusle plans a new walk every day on your iPhone, and the watch takes it out with you.
Coming soon to the Connect IQ Store Free
What it does
- Today’s loop on your wrist: distance, time and when you’ll be home
- Turns you can feel: one buzz for left, two for right, with an arrow, and the street name when your iPhone is with you
- A progress ring, distance in kilometres or miles, heart rate in zone colours, pace and time
- Intervals with a countdown
- A map with the route and the next turn
- Saves the walk as an activity and sends it to Rusle on your phone
What you need
Rusle on your iPhone, which plans the loops, and a Garmin Forerunner 970. For now that is the only watch; more will follow later.
Set it up
- Install Rusle for Garmin on the watch from the Connect IQ Store (coming soon).
- In Rusle on your iPhone, open Settings → Garmin watch and tap “Connect the watch”. Garmin Connect opens, and you pick your watch there.
- Open Rusle on the watch. When you start a walk on your phone, the watch follows.
Phone left at home? The watch walks the last loop the phone sent. The walk waits on the watch until Rusle on your phone has it.
Back breaks on any Garmin
Back breaks are ordinary iPhone notifications, so they reach any Garmin watch through Garmin Connect, with or without Rusle for Garmin. Allow notifications from Rusle, and turn on app notifications in Garmin Connect.

Privacy
Rusle for Garmin talks only to Rusle on your own phone, through Garmin Connect. Walks saved on the watch follow your Garmin settings.
Common questions
Rusle can’t find my watch
Check that the watch is paired in Garmin Connect on the same iPhone, and that Rusle for Garmin is installed on it. Then tap “Connect the watch” again in Rusle’s settings and pick the watch.
No turns on the watch
The turns come with today’s loop. Start the walk in Rusle on the phone, or tap “Send today’s loop” under Settings → Garmin watch, and keep Rusle open on the watch. Street names show when your iPhone is with you.
Where does the heart rate come from?
From the watch’s own sensor. While Rusle is open on the watch, it also sends your heart rate to the phone every five seconds, so you don’t need to turn on heart rate broadcasting.
Back breaks don’t show on my watch
Allow notifications from Rusle on the iPhone, and turn on app notifications for Rusle in Garmin Connect.
